Ashkenazic Pronunciation (ahsh-ken-AH-zik)

Historically, Ashkenazic Jews (Jews from Central and Eastern Europe and their descendants) pronounced some Hebrew sounds differently than Sephardic Jews (Jews from Spain and the Mediterranean area and their descendants). The Sephardic pronunciation of Hebrew is increasingly becoming the norm, because it is the pronunciation used in Israel.
